Hardwood timber windows and doors
Joinery made to suit the house — from flush casements and leaded bays on a 1930s home to oak front doors, stable doors and garage doors on a period cottage.

Choose your timber
Each timber has its own grain, colour and character. We'll help you choose the right one for the house and the finish you want.
Rich hardwood
Dense, strong and hard-wearing. A dependable choice for painted windows and doors that need to stand up to the weather for decades.
European oak
Fine, distinctive grain and warm natural tones. Oak is usually left natural or lightly stained, and it mellows beautifully with age.
Sapele
A reddish-brown hardwood with a fine interlocking grain. It takes stain well, has a natural lustre and deepens in colour over time.

Why timber?
Timber brings natural warmth to a window or door, and it performs as well as it looks.
Right for older houses
Timber keeps the proportions and detail of period properties, and is often the best choice for listed buildings and conservation areas.
Warm and quiet
Wood is a natural insulator. Combined with modern double or triple glazing, timber windows keep heat in and noise out.
Sustainable and repairable
Responsibly sourced timber is renewable with a low carbon footprint. Well-made joinery can be repaired and refinished rather than replaced.
Any finish
From clear and natural stains to paint in any colour — white, heritage greens and blues, greys or black — inside and out.
Made to measure
Every frame is made to the opening, so odd sizes, curved bays and arched heads are no problem.
Secure
Multi-point locking, quality hinges and toughened or laminated glass can be specified throughout.

Timber questions
Which timber is best for windows?
For painted windows a dense, stable hardwood is a dependable choice. For a natural or stained finish, European oak and Sapele both show off their grain. We'll recommend the right timber for the finish and the property.
Can you match the windows on an older house?
Yes. Timber joinery is made to measure, so we can match glazing bar layouts, mouldings, curved bays, leaded lights and arched heads to suit the age and style of the house.
Are timber windows energy efficient?
Wood is a natural insulator, and modern timber windows are fitted with double or triple glazed units, so they can perform very well thermally while keeping a traditional look.
Do you make timber front doors and garage doors?
Yes — front and entrance doors with side lights and fanlights, stable doors, French doors and side-hung or folding garage doors, in oak, Sapele or painted hardwood.
Planning new timber windows or doors?
Send us a few details — the property, what you'd like replaced or added, and any photos — and we'll come back to you to arrange a survey and quotation.
