No. Modern aluminium systems have a polyamide thermal break between the inner and outer frame. The systems we install achieve U-values of around 1.2–1.4 W/m²K with good double or triple glazing.
Bifolds open almost the full width of the opening, which is great for summer. Sliders have fewer, larger panes with slimmer interlocks, so you get more glass and a clearer view all year. We'll talk through the opening, the threshold and how you'll use the space.
Yes. Smarts Alitherm Heritage is designed specifically to replace steel windows, with slim 59mm typical sightlines and heritage hardware — ideal for period and conservation-area properties.
